OAKSENHAM ‘WODEN’S EVE LIVE’ (CADENCE MUSIC CENTER)

After we have had the band ARTSRUNI from Armenia, it is time to talk about another quality band from this country. The band is called OAKSENHAM, and their CDR ‘Woden’s eve live’ is a high quality instrumental challenge in the world of Progressive Rock. Similiraties that come to mind when hearing OAKSENHAM are bands like FOCUS, CAMEL, YES, IQ, KAYAK, GENTLE GIANT, KING CRIMSON, PINK FLOYD... This is definitely a band with skilled musicians that do know how to make good quality instrumental Progressive Rock. You don’t just pick favourite tracks, because the whole album needs to be played from start to finish, so from “The way back home” to “Gaudeamus igitur” to get to notice how good this really is. People looking for a real quality instrumental Progrockalbum need to check out this release. Especially the fact that they come from Armenia should gain interest among all musicfans and press in Western Europe, as not many Armenian bands/artists (read: none) are known over here.
